January 2009

We are thrilled to secure the contract to supply MANUAL HANDLING training for the VALE of GLAMORGAN COUNTY COUNCIL. All employees engaged in their waste / street scene operations received manual handling training to a standard that meets the ALL WALES MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING PASSPORT & INFORMATION SCHEME, a guidance scheme issued by the WELSH ASSEMBLY GOVERNMENT in association with the HEALTH and SAFETY EXECUTIVE.

During this period we were keen to gain accreditation for our MANUAL HANDLING training course in order that our clients were provided with a quality accredited service. Following submission of all the required course documentation to the INSTITUTION OF SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH (IOSH) and the attendance of a meeting and training day at IOSH headquarters we were very please to gain the IOSH accreditation for our training course MANUAL HANDLING –PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE.

Our training course INDUCTION – STREET COLLECTIONS receives CIWM accreditation

July 2008

Following discussion and meetings with THE CHARTERED INSTITUTION of WASTES MANAGMENT (CIWM) our training course “INDUCTION – STREET COLLECTIONS” receives CIWM accreditation.
  • This was a first for CIWM as they do not accredit any other training courses designed exclusively for operatives working in frontline waste operations and a significant achievement for AJF Waste Management.
